Unless you have been living on a desert island somewhere I am quite sure you have heard of Myspace, Linkedin and Facebook. these are but a few of the more common social networking sites. Each site has it’s own demographics. Each site has it’s own uses as well as it’s own set of rules for use.

To understand twitter you must first understand the concept you simply make aquaintances through short messages and you always answer the question of what are you doing? The main difference behind twitter is the way in which you communicate. Twitter only allows 140 characters of communication at one time. so in actuality you may only type in 140 characters of text per communication. Do you see the beauty in this you are actually texting your followers. Well they call these communications tweets. I know this all sounds very cute. I went to a seminar recently about social networking where one of the speakers had his laptop open and was conversing with his twitter following during the seminar. He was a guest speaker but in between the presentations of the speakers he was texting or tweeting if you will to his followers and explaining what was going on at the time. If you think this is rude? I think not. Text messaging is one of the most popular cell phone uses available today besides the internet. Well that is one of the major uses for twitter.
