Have you ever been sitting at work, staring at the computer, without a clue of what you were supposed to be doing? Well, yesterday was one of those days for me. My supervisor had just given me a stack of busy work to do, and i just needed a mental break of sorts before I could completely empty my mind enough to process such a mind numbing task.

Plugging random words into Google has always been entertaining. Checking the company stock is also on the list of things to do when bored. Well it was down as usual. As I checked for why my stock was always declining I decided to search some financial sites.

I always find it entertaining when I find words that I don’t understand because they were created for some specific website or another with the sole purpose of something faster to say, like forex indicator. I don’t know what that is, other than it has something to do with finance.

Mission aborted and onto the next one. Shopping is always a fun diversion. A costly diversion but it will keep my mind off the mind numbing boredom. Our annual vacation is coming up and we each need a bathing suit and some vacation outfits. The trip to Mexico was bought on the cheap because we have a friend that is a travel agent.

My husband lost his watch in the move, and has been looking for a replacement one. He has looked at a lot of men’s watches but has not been able to find one he likes yet. I found him a nice shirt and tie that would compliment my dress nicely. I also need to look into insurance for my wedding ring. I had let it lapse but this reminded me of how important it is to take care of that and be protected.

Moving from an apartment to a house left us with a big gap in furniture needs. The bedroom was taken care of but we were looking into dining sets. My husband wants a bar but I thought it would look a little tacky. This all led me to looking at napkins and table cloths. There were a many colors that I wanted. I thought about plum but it was not as striking as the dark cherry red.

It is amazing how much time you can waste throughout the day just by surfing the internet. It is definitely a good idea to get all of your work done beforehand, just in case your supervisor shows up.
