How To Dramatically Increase Your Keyword Ranking

Starting a new website?  What are the things you would do to increase site traffic?  The most important function for me is my keyword research.  I need to formulate a good SEO plan that goes along with my research.

I’ll show you some SEO techniques.  This is what most people do; they just put up web pages without having any kind of system set up.  3 things go into keyword research: how much search volume a word gets, who you are targeting and taking a look at the competition. When you put up a website without a given plan, 6 months will go by and you’ll wonder why you don’t have any traffic.  The bottom line is you shouldn’t put together a website without a plan.  Sure the plan takes some time, but it’s time that is well worth it.  Two things can be left out of keyword research.  They are picking words without a target or picking a keyword that has so much competition that it will be hard to rank for.

I’ll take more time developing the keywords than I do with any other task.  Scrutinize the reason as to why someone is searching for that term.  I’ll do all of this before I write one bit of content, for if I do it this way, I’ll be more successful.  This is how you measure your success.  Now examine the search phrases used and how many times they are searched.  This will give you a good idea of how much work you have to put in to rank well for each term.  Now you know how much traffic to look forward to and how long it will take to reach your goal.

It’s a straight forward plan that I use.  I do the same steps every time I start a new website.  Many times people will seek out advice when it comes to this and the advisor seems to leave how important the keyword research is, out.   I don’t get it why something this important would be left out.

There are many different types of websites that you can put up.  Some you’ll have better luck with than others.  Go for the longer tailed keywords when you are describing products.  This way you’ll rank a lot higher for this and quickly.

Sales letters only have a few pages.  What is in the mind of the person that is buying the product has to be answered in order to rank well.  Free traffic generation methods can always be used.

In conclusion, do the best job you can with the research tools you’re given.  Now you can increase site traffic for the brand new website you are working on.

There are 3 different phases to get website traffic.  The first steps are to social bookmark and submit your blog RSS feed to directories.  The second step is to have articles written and post them on blogging networks and article directories.  Phase 3 consists of hand picking higher ranking websites and see if you can obtain a link back to your website.

In these podcast interviews I’ve learned, websites with high PR ranking you’ll have to pay for, but the link is well worth the money that you’ll be paying out.  You might luck out and get a link for free; the important point is to try.

In this Ken Evoy interview I’ve learned, you want to always be marketing your website through off page optimization.  Come up with a consistent plan and stick to it.  Go to your keyword list and do some testing to see which keywords you should be using.  Pay-per-click is a get way to test out to see if you can get traffic with the keywords you picked.  Now create some content and submit those articles to the directories.  Write your goals down on a piece of paper and stick to them.

The longer tailed keywords don’t have that much competition, so I’ll just bookmark them and submit one to two articles to a directory.  When you submit your articles to a directory, people link directly to your site.

Stick to your plan and do the work yourself before outsourcing.  Problems always come up and when they do you’ll have a good understanding of how to fix them.  Some people enjoy doing the SEO marketing for their website.

When you are familiar with the job that you are doing, then you can veer out and find someone else to do this work for you.  I’ve found that finding someone to do my link building for me is hard, because you’ll either get it right or you’ll get it wrong.  If someone gets a comment wrong or they don’t link the text correctly, that is a post that is wasted.  Start someone off doing a few things for you.  This way you can view their work habits before making a big investment in that individual.

I find that the smaller things can be outsourced, but for some reason I have a really hard time finding someone to do my linking for me so I just do it all myself.  Going the social bookmarking route and submitting articles to the directories have been really good for me.  There are automatic services that you can sign up for but doing these steps outlined in this article is how I get most of my free website traffic.
