I have already started offering free guidance, direction and coaching to individuals who are struggling to get visitors to their web sites, here are my reasons.

Although inspired at the time I have pretty horrible recollections of developing and setting up my first web presence back in 2000. Given the amount of knowledge and skills connected to the net you might dream that someone would have established a well known web site where novices could visit to master all of the basics know how to create a successful web presence. I have talked to so many people on and offline who are really driven to do this and haven’t got the skills that I am compelled to do something about it.

I am lucky enough to have spent a long time seeking out, rounding up, testing, getting to know and mastering the large selection of different techniques and tool kits for establishing a web site, drawing people to my web sites and constantly improving my ways of doing things. I felt compelled to educate people.

As a result work and fortunes I am fortunate enough to be in a position to do this and devote a significant amount of quality time to it. Every one who is not sure where to start or already developing a presence on the web wants fast results, I’m no different and therefore whenever I have found high quality material and tools that work I am going to direct my students at these rather than try and reinvent the wheel.

Everything I have reviewed that has produced good or excellent results will be included in my training material and where there are gaps I have filled them in. On my journey I have created some techniques, tools and methods of my own that I constantly use which I will be including in the education.

The key objective of any web site should be to attract visitors and before you build your web site you should have an understanding of how you are going to attract visitors. So how do you go about doing this?. You have two choices but there is nothing to stop you doing both if you have money and time. You can pay for advertising, commonly known as Pay per Click or you can create great content and get people to link to it.

Search engines have a simple philosophy that nothing exists on the web without a keyword or a key phrase . The user typing a keyword or phrase into the search engine starts the search process. The keyword entered by the user causes the search engine to search its indexes for the most accurate and relevant web pages. The search engines decision about what pages to display in the results are based upon two key factors relevance and authority.

Authority is a function of the back links to a web page and relevance is largely down to on page factors such as the number of times a keyword appears on the web page. The order of the list of results displayed by a search engine are conducive with the authority and volume of the back links to each page.

Back links are the sledge hammers of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation).

Back links not only determine your position in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) but are a major source of visitor traffic. Users will follow links they find in content if the back link is labelled with relevant text. The text label on a back link is often commonly called ‘Anchor Text’ and is used by search engines in the algorithms that determine back link value. Each back link has a value associated with it which can vary depending upon its origin.

Web pages with back links from authoritative pages acquire authority in the eyes of the search engines.The higher the authority of the linking pages, the higher is the authority passed to your pages.
