Creating applications, and getting advertising on any pages created, are just two ways that popular social networking sites can generate income. Whilst if you have a high number of friends, advertising things you want to sell on your updates is a lot more cost effective than many other trading sites.

Affiliate schemes are another great way to make money online, though perhaps not as great as they once were. However, with many sites advising you which are hot, and those which are not; it is certainly worth dipping a toe in the water.

And then of course there are the legions of people that make money blogging. We all have something to say, and of course, things are always better out in the open than locked up inside anyway. So vent your spleen, attract people to the site, and get advertising.

These blogs really have proven the key to success for some. Though most are purely done for fun, others have a steady income stream whilst in rare cases, people make their fortunes. Recognition by companies is not unknown; just remember to keep them up to date, and relevant.

With the support of the internet, more traditional money making methods can be exploited too. This is particularly so of the stock markets the world over; which are always going to make money. Seminars, conference and e-books are all available; or you could simply invest, so to speak, in regular hard copy investing books.

Many people have had immeasurable success with these methods; others make a few extra dollars each week. Others of course do not make anything; but then they probably have not put in as much effort. This is about making money while having fun, not about making money doing nothing.
