Search engines are the gateway to the Internet. They are the first tool that potential customers use to find the products and services they need. This is why link popularity is crucial. If the customers do not find your website, you have no possibilities of making any sales.

The rank you’re website is assigned to by the search engines is called link popularity. When keywords are typed into a search engine, your link popularity will determine where your page gets ranked. Link popularity techniques can be found with Google Cash Sniper

Relevant websites that are linking to your website are given higher status from search engines.

Here are some things you should be aware of. You can’t just link up with a large number of websites. The opposite effect could happen if you do. A good example of this is submitting your site to “link farms”. These sites have line after line of links. Search engines may aggressively discriminate against your website if you are associated with a link farm, so steer clear of them.

You also should consider that quality and relevancy of the website you are linking to. Try and avoid linking to pages that you don’t want your visors to see. Linking to these website will decrease your link popularity.

The first step, and the fastest way to get your foot in the
door, is to get a listing in a popular directory, such as
Open Directory Project and Yahoo. Business related sites will cost you around $300 per year of listing, and although this seems expensive, it will be very useful. A non comercial website will take a little longer to get listed in this directory. Although Open Directory is a free directory, it can take quite some time for your website to become listed.

The next step after you have attained directory listings is
to locate other quality sites that will increase your link
popularity. Remember, try to find sites that are in some way related to yours, so not only will your link popularity increase, but your customer base may also be expanded.

The first step you should take when you have found a good prospect, is to add their link to your websites links page. This is a good first step, as it shows good faith and increases your chances of the other website responding. You now want to contact the websites webmaster. Since this is almost always done by email, you want to make sure it is immediately clear that your message is not junk mail. Let them know that you have now put a link from their page to your website.

Next, be sure to be flattering and let them know how much
you appreciate their website. Make sure you emphasize that you have actually visited their site, and that their site is not just a random pick. Give them the address of your links page, and ask them to check out the link for themselves. Notify the websites administrator that have a link to your website will increase their link popularity and bring more traffic. You then want to briefly explain why link popularity is good. Finally, tell them you would greatly appreciate if they would reciprocally add a link on their own links page to your website.

Bear in mind the quality and relevance of the website when you repeat these steps.
